You will be part of a dynamic team in Group Operations responsible for risk and compliance matters for the Division. We aspire to create an Operations division that creates sustainable business values for the company, its customers, and sales representatives as we strive for excellence in the way we do our business with them.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage internal, external and regulatory trawling requests, including the preparation and submission of accurate and timely reports.
- Support compliance reviews conducted on Group Operations, ensuring that findings are appropriately addressed and remediated.
- Conduct quality reviews and monitoring activities across departmental transactions and processes to ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures and regulatory standards.
- Manage, support and monitor service provider engagements, with a focus on risk assessment reviews, procurement and legal requirements for the division. Ensure that identified risks are assessed, documented and appropriately mitigated, and that all activities comply with internal policies and procedures.
- Conduct remediation exercises to ensure that customer records are accurate, complete and updated within the required timelines.
- Review and support the preparation of divisional performance reports, providing relevant analysis and insights to facilitate management decision-making.
- Provide support to the Division and handle any other ad-hoc assignments as assigned by the Supervisor.
- Demonstrates risk awareness of business decisions made, in consideration for the company's reputation and branding.
- Take accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and appropriate steps to mitigate the risks;
- Highlight any potential concerns/risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.
- Tertiary education in Insurance, Business or equivalent qualifications, preferably possess insurance certification (i.e. M5, M9, Health Insurance)
- Minimum 5 years of working experience in operations, audit and/or in the area of compliance and risk management in insurance industry
- Team player with strong sense of ownership and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Meticulous and possess good analytical skills
- Self-starter, independent worker with a sense of urgency to adhere to timeline or objective set; cooperative and effective as a team member
