Job Purpose This role is a skilled cloud infrastructure engineer with expertise in Microsoft Azure to design, optimize, and maintain our cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will focus on cost optimization, enhancing security posture, and managing Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) to support the organization’s cloud-first strategy.

Key Tasks and Accountabilities • Azure Cloud Infrastructure Management o Design, deploy, and manage Azure cloud services, including virtual machines, storage accounts, networks and other resources. o Implement and maintain VDI solutions to provide secure and scalable remote desktop services. o Monitor and optimize the performance and reliability of Azure-based infrastructure. • Cost Optimization o Analyse and monitor Azure usage and costs using tools like Azure Cost Management and Azure Advisor. o Identify and implement cost-saving strategies, such as right-sizing resources, implemnting auto-scaling and using reserved instances. o Regularly review billing reports and ensure optimal utilization of cloud resources. • Security Enhancement o Evaluate and improve the Azure Security Score, addressing recommendations and implemting security best practices. o Implement encryption, secure data storage, and compliance with organizational and regulatory security standards. • Automation and Efficicency o Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or ARM Templates to automate cloud resource provisiong. o Automate routine tasks, such as scaling, monitoring, and backups, to improve operational efficiency. o Integrate cloud infrastructure with CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployment processes. • Collaboration and Support o Collaborate with IT, DevOps and application development teams to align cloud infrastructure with business objectives. o Provide technical support for VDI environments, troubleshooting performance and connectivity issues. o Document cloud architecture, processes, and best practices for knowledge sharing. • Monitoring and Reporting o Set up and monitor Azure tools like Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Grafana etc., to ensure system health and performance. o Generate regular reports on cost savings, security improvements, and VDI performance metrics. • Provatively identfy trends and issues to optimize system operations and user experiences.
