Job Description & Responsibilities
. You will be deployed to support administrative functions and maintain science facilities. Key duties include:
- Lesson Preparation: Prepare teaching materials, laboratory apparatus, equipment, and reagents for science lessons based on the Primary Science syllabus.
- Student Support: Assist students safely in using specified science apparatus during practical lessons.
- Training Support: Assist in compiling and prepping training materials for students, parents, and staff.
- Lab Maintenance: Clean, maintain, and manage two Science Rooms, including the preparation room and all inventory.
- Outdoor & Eco-Facilities: Upkeep outdoor science spaces, including the garden, ponds, hydroponics, aeroponics, and Integrated Farming Systems (IFS).
- Inventory Management: Conduct comprehensive termly stock checks for all school learning resources and lab equipment (e.g., Sparkle Kits).
- Ad-hoc Duties: Perform general administrative tasks or maintenance duties as requested by the school authority.
Job Requirements
- Education: Minimum of a pass in PSLE English.
- Experience: Minimum two (2) years of working experience specifically as a science lab assistant within a school environment.
- Skills: Proficient in managing basic inventory systems, working with green/farming technologies (hydroponics/aquaponics), and handling standard primary school lab equipment.
- Attributes: Diligent, highly organized, and capable of working safely with young students.
Working Hours
- Mondays to Thursdays: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM (includes a 1-hour lunch break).
- Fridays: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM (includes a 1-hour lunch break).
- Rest Days: Saturdays, Sundays, and gazetted Public Holidays are off.
