Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Learning Strategy & Direction

  • Define and execute a comprehensive Learning & Development strategy aligned with organisational goals, workforce planning, and future capability requirements.
  • Translate business strategy into meaningful learning and capability-building initiatives that drive performance and long-term competitiveness.
  • Identify future capability needs—including leadership, digital fluency, and technical skills—and ensure proactive development pathways are in place.
  • Establish enterprise standards for leadership development, compliance training, and digital learning.
  • Develop and manage the L&D budget, ensuring effective resource allocation and return on investment.

Programme Design & Delivery

  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of high-impact learning programmes, including workshops, e-learning modules, coaching sessions, and blended learning experiences.
  • Design and implement leadership development programmes for all levels—from emerging talent to senior executives—spanning cohort learning, coaching, and experiential development.
  • Create clear career development pathways that support progression, retention, and succession planning.
  • Develop modern, engaging learning content across multiple formats—digital, interactive, and experiential—to enhance accessibility and learner engagement.

Learning Technology & Innovation

  • Own and evolve the global Learning Management System (LMS/LXP) ecosystem; stay ahead of AI-enabled learning, digital content, and emerging platforms.
  • Leverage data and analytics to personalise learning journeys, predict skill gaps, and measure programme effectiveness.
  • Drive adoption of innovative learning technologies—including mobile learning, microlearning, and virtual training—to create scalable and engaging programmes.

Data, Evaluation & Impact

  • Establish a robust measurement framework to assess the effectiveness and ROI of learning initiatives, reporting insights to executive and Board-level stakeholders.
  • Collect, interpret, and report on key learning metrics, using course completion data, assessments, and feedback to guide continuous improvement.
  • Use data-driven insights to refine learning strategy and demonstrate tangible business outcomes.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Partner with senior leadership and HRBPs to identify capability gaps, align learning priorities with business objectives, and co-create targeted solutions.
  • Build strong relationships with external partners, vendors, and learning institutes to bring cutting-edge development opportunities to the organisation.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to management on learning, skills gaps, and organisational development.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing L&D team, fostering a culture of collaboration, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive a disciplined, data-driven approach to L&D delivery, ensuring high-quality execution and prioritisation across all initiatives.
  • Build a strong L&D community of practice across the organisation, promoting knowledge-sharing, consistency, and best-practice alignment.

Organisational Development & Culture

  • Lead or support organisational development initiatives—including change management, culture programmes, and succession frameworks.
  • Embed a mindset of continuous learning, curiosity, and psychological safety—from onboarding through to senior leadership.
  • Foster a culture of high performance through effective goal setting, feedback, and development planning.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organisational Development or a related field
  • Experience: 10+ years in Learning & Development, with at least 5 years leading global or multi-regional teams.
  • Strategic Leadership: Proven expertise in designing and implementing enterprise-wide L&D strategies that drive business performance.
  • Programme Design: Demonstrated ability to build learning solutions from scratch—including frameworks, content, delivery models, and evaluation methodologies.
  • Leadership Development: Track record of designing and running impactful leadership programmes from first-time managers to senior executives.
  • Learning Technology: Proficiency with Learning Management Systems, e-learning tools, and emerging learning technologies; experience with AI-enabled learning is highly desirable.
  • Commercial Acumen: Ability to link learning initiatives directly to business outcomes, with a strong focus on measurable impact.
  • Stakeholder Management: Exceptional influencing and communication skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and build positive relationships across all levels.
  • Team Leadership: Experience leading and developing L&D teams, fostering high performance and a shared sense of purpose.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering complex, multi-stream initiatives.
  • Technical Competence: High proficiency with M365 applications and data analysis tools.
  • Language: Fluent in English, with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
