Purchaser

Job Summary

The Purchaser sources, negotiates, and procures goods and services to meet company needs, ensuring cost efficiency, quality standards, and timely delivery while maintaining strong supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate potential vendors to secure competitive pricing and quality products
• Negotiate terms and contracts with suppliers to achieve favorable agreements aligned with company goals
• Prepare, issue, and track purchase orders according to company policies to ensure accurate procurement
• Coordinate with warehouse and operations teams to maintain optimal inventory levels and prevent stockouts or overstock
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and relevant legal requirements
• Monitor supplier performance regularly and resolve issues promptly to maintain service quality
• Analyze procurement costs and recommend actionable cost-saving opportunities to improve budget efficiency

Required competencies and certifications

• Proven experience in procurement or purchasing
• Strong negotiation and communication skills to effectively engage suppliers and internal teams
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and reporting
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail for evaluating suppliers and purchase data

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Knowledge of supply chain management principles to support procurement strategy
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across departments
