About the role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll play an important role in keeping projects commercially healthy; from the initial costing right through to final accounts.
Key responsibilities
Prepare and review cost estimates, budgets, BOQ/BQ and tender documents
Carry out quantity take-offs, measurements and valuations of construction works
Monitor project costs, budgets, expenditures and cost variations
Prepare and manage progress claims, interim valuations, variation orders and final accounts
Review subcontractor claims, quotations, invoices and supporting documents
Evaluate and negotiate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers
Monitor VO, claims, EOT-related cost implications and contractual matters
Conduct site measurements and verify completed works for valuation and payment
Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and project teams
Prepare cost reports and commercial updates for management
About you
Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related field
2–5 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying / Construction
Hands-on experience in cost estimation, quantity take-off, BOQ, progress claims, VO and final accounts
Good understanding of construction contracts, cost control and contract administration
Experience handling subcontractor claims, quotations and variation orders
Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications and project documents
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and relevant QS / measurement software
Strong numerical, analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills
Good communication and coordination skills
Responsible, detail-oriented and commercially minded
