About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced PASAR borong professional to join our Government - State division based in Kuala Lumpur. This role is fundamental to supporting the efficient operation and management of wholesale market services within the state government framework. As PASAR borong, you will play a crucial part in overseeing the administration, coordination and strategic development of wholesale market operations, ensuring compliance with government regulations and delivering effective services to market stakeholders and the public.
What you'll be doing
Overseeing the day-to-day operations and management of wholesale market facilities and services
Coordinating with market vendors, traders and stakeholders to ensure compliance with market regulations and standards
Managing licensing, permits and regulatory documentation for market operators and traders
Monitoring market hygiene, safety standards and food security protocols
Conducting inspections and enforcement activities to maintain market standards and resolve compliance issues
Liaising between market users and government departments to address operational concerns and implement improvements
Preparing reports on market operations, revenue collection and performance metrics
Supporting the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to wholesale market management
Managing budgets and financial operations associated with market facilities and services
Training and supervising market staff and enforcement personnel
What we're looking for
Proven experience in wholesale market management, government administration or related state government operations
Strong knowledge of Malaysian wholesale market regulations, licensing requirements and food safety standards
Demonstrated experience in vendor and stakeholder management within a market or commercial environment
Proficiency in regulatory compliance, inspection procedures and enforcement protocols
Excellent organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective liaison with diverse stakeholders
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and government administrative systems
Knowledge of financial management and budget administration principles
Fluency in Bahasa Malaysia and English (both written and spoken)
Malaysian citizenship and eligibility to work in government service
