Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based in Johore, Malaysia. The Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting operations, including maintaining general ledgers, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions. The role includes preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, and supporting internal and external audits. The Accountant will monitor compliance with local accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who can work proactively, meet deadlines, and uphold high standards of integrity and accuracy.


Qualifications

  • Strong financial accounting and reporting skills, including general ledger management and preparation of financial statements.
  • Proficiency in account reconciliation, month-end closing processes, and variance analysis.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Knowledge of relevant tax regulations, local accounting standards, and compliance requirements in Malaysia.
  • Ability to work with accounting and ERP software; strong skills in spreadsheet and financial analysis tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in cross-functional and multicultural teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) are an advantage.
  • Relevant experience in corporate or industrial environments; experience in energy, infrastructure, or related sectors is beneficial.
  • Commitment to ethical conduct, confidentiality, and continuous improvement in financial processes.
