职位描述

岗位职责

Norges Bank Investment Management is looking for an outstanding team player with a genuine passion for equities to join the Pacific Team as an Associate Portfolio Manager. The role sits within the broader Equities department.

Equities manages the market exposure of the fund's global, diversified equity portfolio — more than half the fund's total assets. We're organized as regionally autonomous investment teams that collaborate closely across regions and functions. The Pacific team manages more than USD 150 billion across Japan, Korea, Australia, Singapore and New Zealand. Our mandate is to outperform our benchmark in a risk-controlled manner, with the ambition to be the best in the business at what we do. Our edge comes from the fund's long investment horizon, scale, diversification and research access, combined with a deep understanding of local markets and investor behaviour — across positions that are often related to events and special situations, index changes, relative value and corporate governance.

From day one, you'll work alongside the team on researching investment ideas, putting on positions, and building portfolios within the team's guidelines and risk limits. As you grow into the role, you'll take on greater responsibility for risk-taking and portfolio decisions, working closely with colleagues across the team and other departments.

This is your chance to help shape how one of the world's largest investors approaches Pacific equity markets. The role is based in Singapore, reports to the Global Co-Heads of Equities, and involves some travel.

Duties and responsibilities

What you will do

  • Work closely with the team to shape investment strategies that generate returns above the market — bringing your own ideas and analysis to the table
  • Manage risk at both stock and aggregate portfolio level
  • Handle day-to-day portfolio operations: in-/outflows, transitions, index changes, corporate action elections and capital market events
  • Contribute to team discussions and give constructive feedback
  • Help make our portfolio processes smarter — working with the team to build AI, optimization and automation tools that sharpen how we invest and decide
Qualifications (heading)

What you need

  • Real interest in, and good knowledge of, equity markets and equity instruments, with 1-3+ years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's or master's degree with a strong academic record, ideally combining a quantitative/science discipline (e.g. mathematics, physics, engineering, computer science or statistics) with finance
  • Programming skills (e.g. Python, SQL), and comfort using AI tools such as Claude Code to work faster and smarter
  • Outstanding communication and teamwork skills, paired with sharp analytical and decision-making ability
  • High proficiency in processing and analysing data, with some experience using SQL databases (such as Snowflake)
  • Native-level English
  • Must be eligible to work in Singapore, and committed to working from there
  • High personal integrity, and successful completion of the mandatory security clearance required for employment at Norges Bank (the Central Bank of Norway)

Who you are

  • A genuine team player with a low ego who puts the team first
  • Enthusiastic about equities, with a drive to take risk and deliver strong results
  • An active voice in team discussions, who acts on conviction and takes responsibility for the outcome
  • Curious, with a keen eye for data quality
  • Committed to very high ethical standards
  • Someone who values giving and receiving constructive feedback
