Responsible for the overall engineering, operation, reliability, maintenance and continuous improvement of facility infrastructure and critical utilities to ensure safe, reliable and uninterrupted support to manufacturing operations.
The Facility Engineer shall provide technical leadership for facility systems, drive preventive and predictive maintenance, manage facility projects, improve energy efficiency, ensure regulatory compliance and lead troubleshooting and root-cause investigations for facility-related failures.

Facility Operations & Engineering
Manage and maintain critical facility systems including:
Electrical distribution systems
HVAC, AHU, FAU and MAU systems
Chillers and cooling towers
Compressed-air systems
Water supply and pumping systems
STP/WTP systems
Generators and emergency power systems
UPS systems
Fire protection systems
Building services and infrastructure
BMS/monitoring systems
Ensure high availability and reliability of critical facility systems.
Monitor facility operating parameters and identify abnormal conditions.
Establish operating standards, equipment specifications and maintenance strategies.
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
Develop and manage annual, monthly and daily facility maintenance programs.
Ensure PM/PdM activities are completed effectively and on schedule.
Analyse equipment failure trends and develop corrective actions.
Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major breakdowns.
Improve MTBF and reduce MTTR and unplanned facility downtime.
Develop critical equipment and spare-parts strategies.
Facility Reliability
Establish facility reliability and availability targets.
Identify single points of failure and develop redundancy/contingency strategies.
Develop emergency response and recovery plans for critical utility failures.
Lead recovery activities during major facility interruptions.
Energy & Sustainability
Monitor electricity, water, compressed air and other utility consumption.
Identify and implement energy-saving opportunities.
Optimize HVAC, chiller, compressed-air and electrical systems.
Support solar PV, energy-efficiency and sustainability projects.
Track utility KPIs and cost-saving initiatives.
Engineering Projects
Lead facility improvement, expansion and modification projects.
Prepare technical specifications, SOW, budgets and project schedules.
Review engineering drawings, calculations and contractor proposals.
Manage contractors during installation and commissioning.
Ensure projects meet safety, quality, cost and schedule requirements.
Conduct testing, commissioning and final handover.
EHS & Compliance
Ensure facility activities comply with applicable Malaysian legal and regulatory requirements.
Support compliance with OSHA, electrical safety, environmental, fire safety and other applicable requirements.
Implement HIRARC/JSA, PTW and LOTO requirements.
Support ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and customer/RBA requirements.
Participate in audits and ensure timely closure of findings.
Contractor & Vendor Management
Manage facility service contractors and specialist vendors.
Review technical proposals, quotations and service reports.
Monitor contractor performance, safety and quality.
Ensure contractors comply with facility procedures and EHS requirements.
Leadership
Provide technical direction to Facility Technicians and maintenance personnel.
Coach and develop facility team competency.
Coordinate maintenance activities with Production, EHS, Engineering, Security and other departments.
Lead technical meetings and facility improvement initiatives.
What your background should look like
Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Mechanical, Facility Engineering, Building Services or related engineering discipline.
Minimum 5 years of relevant facility/manufacturing experience.
Strong knowledge of industrial facility systems and utilities.
Experience in preventive/predictive maintenance and facility reliability.
Experience in facility project management.
Strong troubleshooting and RCA capability.
Good understanding of EHS and statutory requirements.
