Job Requirements & Responsibilities
- Must possess at least a Certificate of Competency (CoC) Class 3 Marine Engineer Officer and a valid Certificate of Endorsement (CoE), with all relevant certificates complying with MPA rules and regulations.
- Must have at least 1 year of experience working on lighterage boats.
- Must be willing to work and stay onboard the lighterage boat on a 12-hour shift, as required by vessel operations.
- Have basic knowledge and experience in crane operations, including safe handling and lifting procedures.
- Comfortable working onboard and travelling by boat for every voyage, including operations within Outer Port Limits (OPL).
- Assist in planning and coordinating daily loading and delivery schedules from Penjuru or Marina South Wharf to mother vessels.
- Handle delivery of lubricating oil and chemicals packed in drums, pails, or IBCs.
- Assist the Boat Captain in ensuring all boat machinery operates safely, smoothly, and efficiently.
- Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair the boat's mechanical systems and equipment.
- Ensure adequate availability and timely supply of spare parts for the main engine and other machinery.
- Read and interpret construction and mechanical drawings accurately.
- Work in the engine room and ensure the safe and proper operation of engines, boilers, and related machinery.
Leave Entitlement
- Employee is entitled to 2 days of paid annual leave for each completed month of service, up to a maximum of 24 days per year, subject to the Company's leave policy.
- Annual leave for home leave purposes may be applied for after completing 6 months of employment, subject to Management's approval, operational requirements, and the Company's leave policy.
- All leave applications must be submitted in advance and are subject to Management's approval and operational requirements.
