Role Purpose

• Hands-on Data Platform Specialist responsible for stabilizing and innovating data platforms and services.
• Improve customer and business stakeholder experience while ensuring platform scalability.
• Own technical aspects of the platform and work closely with application, architecture, and delivery teams.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

• Support Infrastructure & Database Administration platform service squads.
• Drive modernization, proactive monitoring, maintenance, support, and capacity planning of IT core infrastructure.
• Manage multiple Big Data and Database platforms, orchestration tools, and runtimes end-to-end.
• Mentor and develop team members to ensure sustainable resource capabilities.
• Define and monitor KPIs and metrics for platform and team performance.
• Develop platform roadmap and strategy covering:Teradata (Vantage)
• Oracle
• Big Data Platforms
• Object Storage solutions
• Ensure platform security, including:Data at rest and in transit protection
• User Access Management (UAM)
• PII controls
• Deliver technology/product roadmap with strong quality standards and SLA adherence.

Platform Management

• Ensure infrastructure services remain aligned with evolving business needs and future technologies.
• Collaborate with internal technology teams and vendors on platform strategy, upgrades, and maintenance.
• Manage platform maintenance, performance tuning, and storage optimization.
• Implement effective software configuration management practices to support DevOps adoption.
• Oversee inventory management across all platform environments to optimize resource utilization.

Requirements

• Knowledge of IT Service Management frameworks and IT service operations.
• Understanding of information security best practices.
• ITIL knowledge.
• 10+ years managing Infrastructure Operations teams.
• 8+ years' experience in:
• Hadoop
• Spark
• Big Data technologies
• Cloud Technologies
• Proven track record in service improvement initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities.
• Ability to adapt to changing business demands.
• Experience working in outsourced delivery environments.
• Understanding of internal and external customer needs.
