Role Description
We are looking for an Audit & Accounts Executive to join our team in Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time, on-site position responsible for supporting audit engagements, accounting operations, financial reporting, and statutory compliance for a portfolio of clients, particularly SMEs and growing businesses.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements, maintaining accurate accounting records, performing bookkeeping and reconciliations, and assisting with audit fieldwork. The role will also involve testing internal controls, verifying supporting documents, identifying accounting issues, and assisting in the preparation of audit reports and management letters.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform audit fieldwork and assist in completing audit engagements for clients.
- Prepare and maintain accurate accounting records, ledgers, and supporting schedules.
- Perform bank, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports.
- Review supporting documents and verify accounting transactions for accuracy and completeness.
- Perform audit procedures, including substantive testing and internal control assessments.
- Assist in preparing audit working papers, audit reports, and management letters.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Assist with statutory filings and compliance requirements.
- Liaise with clients to obtain required information and clarify accounting and audit matters.
- Work with cloud accounting platforms such as QuickBooks Online and Zoho Books.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting and reporting processes.
- Ensure assigned work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in auditing, preferably with an audit firm or accounting practice.
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, bookkeeping, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
- Basic understanding of audit procedures, internal controls, and financial statement preparation.
- Knowledge of Malaysian accounting, tax compliance, and statutory requirements will be an advantage.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online, Zoho Books, or other cloud accounting software is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting/productivity tools.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
Salary & Benefits
- Basic Salary: Up to RM 3,000 per month, depending on qualifications, relevant experience, and overall suitability.
