Every APAC data centre programme lives or dies on whether the right cabling teams are in the right city on the right date. This role owns that problem across the region - building the subcontractor network, holding it to standard, and making sure delivery never waits on resource.

About the opportunity

Based in Kuala Lumpur, you will develop, manage and optimise a regional network of cabling subcontractors and technical delivery partners supporting data centre and technical infrastructure projects across APAC. The role blends resource planning and forecasting with supplier management, commercial negotiation, compliance and project fulfilment.

You will work closely with Operations, Project Delivery, Procurement, Sales and Commercial teams, supporting live programmes, new customer requirements and regional growth.

What you will be doing

• Maintaining visibility of subcontractor capacity across the APAC region

• Forecasting engineering resource requirements against project pipelines and operational demand

• Identifying shortages in technical resource, geographical coverage or specialist skills, and building contingency ahead of impact

• Growing and maintaining a strong pool of qualified cabling engineers and technical subcontractors

• Identifying and onboarding new suppliers where coverage or capability gaps exist

• Evaluating subcontractors on technical competence, availability, location, quality and commercial fit

• Running supplier meetings, performance reviews and capability assessments

• Negotiating supplier rates, labour costs and commercial terms alongside Procurement and Commercial

• Maintaining visibility of agreed subcontractor rates across the region and identifying cost optimisation

• Establishing consistent onboarding, compliance, documentation and governance processes

• Coordinating subcontractor mobilisation across multiple APAC locations and confirming availability against project schedules

• Prioritising competing project requirements and escalating constraints that threaten delivery

• Keeping Operations, Delivery, Sales and Commercial teams updated on capacity, availability and delivery risk

What you will need

• Proven experience in engineering, structured cabling, data centre, telecommunications or technical services

• Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers, contractors or technical delivery partners

• Strong understanding of structured cabling and/or data centre engineering environments

• Experience managing technical resources across multiple locations or countries

• Supplier sourcing, onboarding and relationship management experience

• Commercial negotiation experience covering supplier rates and contracts

• Strong resource planning and forecasting skills

• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management

• Comfortable working across different cultures and business environments within APAC

• Willingness to travel regularly across the APAC region

• Right to work in Malaysia without sponsorship

Nice to have

• Experience managing cabling subcontractor networks

• Enterprise, hyperscale or colocation data centre experience

• BICSI, CNet or EPI certification

• Experience managing suppliers across multiple APAC countries

• Procurement, vendor management or technical resource management background

• Experience developing supplier frameworks and performance management programmes

Working pattern

Full-time, based in Kuala Lumpur, with regular travel across APAC.

What is on offer

MYR 18,000 - MYR 21,000 per month depending on experience, with regional scope and a genuine hand in how APAC delivery is resourced.
