We are seeking an experienced Manager, IT Applications to lead the implementation, upgrade, support, and long-term strategic planning of our Epicor ERP system across six manufacturing facilities. This role is critical to optimizing business processes, ensuring system reliability, and aligning ERP functionality with business objectives. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in Epicor ERP and strong project management skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Program & project leadership
- Lead the implementation and upgrade of Epicor ERP across six factories, including the Classic-to-Kinetic UI migration, ensuring timely, cost-effective execution.
Team & vendor management
- Manage the ERP support team, providing guidance, prioritizing work, developing skills, and ensuring high-quality service delivery to end users.
- Serve as escalation point for complex second- and third-level ERP issues; maintain enough hands-on capability to troubleshoot configuration, BPM, and data problems directly.
- Oversee Epicor and third-party developers — including offshore teams — managing contracts, statements of work, deliverables, timelines, and code quality standards.
- Own the ERP budget: license true-ups, maintenance renewals, consulting spend, and capital requests.
Systems, data & governance
- Own environment strategy across dev, pilot, and production — patch and upgrade cadence, regression testing, cutover planning, and hypercare.
- Establish and enforce change control and release management, including documented approvals, testing evidence, and rollback plans.
- Establish and enforce data governance, security, role-based access, segregation of duties, and compliance standards within the ERP environment.
- Own master data governance for part, BOM, routing, supplier, and customer records, including data-quality metrics and remediation.
- Ensure ERP business continuity — backup, disaster recovery, and defined RTO/RPO — in partnership with infrastructure.
- Support internal and external audit requests, including [SOX / ITGC] controls testing where applicable.
Business partnership & adoption
- Collaborate with operations, finance, supply chain, quality, and engineering to translate business needs into ERP solutions, configurations, or documented process changes.
- Build and lead a site super-user/champion network to sustain adoption at each facility.
- Create and deliver training materials and sessions for ERP users across all sites.
- Maintain system documentation, process workflows, configuration records, and change logs.
- Define, track, and report ERP KPIs — system uptime, ticket volume and SLA attainment, backlog age, user adoption, and on-time project delivery.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, risk registers, resource allocations, and executive status reporting for all ERP initiatives.
- Define and drive the long-term ERP roadmap, identifying opportunities for system enhancements, module expansion, and integration.
- Partner with operations on continuous improvement and process standardization across the six plants.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent combination of education and hands-on ERP experience.
- 5+ years managing or administering ERP in a manufacturing environment, including 2+ years leading people or cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated experience leading at least one full ERP implementation, major version upgrade, or UI migration through go-live and stabilization.
- Working knowledge of SQL Server and REST API-based integrations.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and inventory workflows — including job management, MRP/planning, costing, inventory and warehouse transactions, and AR/AP/GL.
- Proven ability to manage complex, multi-site projects, budgets, and vendor relationships.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present to executive stakeholders.
