Job Summary

As the Mechanical Design Section Head, you will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical design team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality design solutions, and driving innovation within the department. This role requires a blend of strong technical skills, leadership abilities, and project management expertise.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research in subject of interest related to mechanical engineering.
• Lead and perform conceptual/architecture/platform design during the initial stage of development.
• Design and develop automation equipment, jigs and fixtures.
• Perform component selection, sourcing and material request.
• Perform engineering calculations and simulation for design verifications.
• Involve in assembly and alignment of automation equipment, jigs and fixtures.
• Test and debug automation equipment, jigs and fixtures.
• Lead and perform equipment setup, commissioning and buyoff on-site.
• Sustaining of existing product portfolio.
• Train production/service personnel on product knowledge.
• Ensure proper documentation throughout the entire research and development processes.
• Lead and coordinate cross-functional projects to meet cost, timeline and performance requirements.
• Innovate to achieve breakthrough and continuous improvement in both products and processes.
• Manage supplier base to ensure cost, lead-time and quality of products/services purchased are met.
• Conduct feasibility study and proposal for customer.
• Review and approve all mechanical design and documentation.
• Lead the mechanical engineering team in all related matters.
• Manage and coach direct-report engineers/section heads/section managers in their job roles.

Qualifications

• Posses Bachelor's Degree or Higher qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of working experience in similar field.
