Project Manager – Technology / AIDC

Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on and detail-oriented Project Manager with strong experience in technology projects, preferably within AI Data Center (AIDC), Data Center, IT Infrastructure, Cloud, AI Server, Networking, or related technology environments.
The successful candidate should be technically inclined, commercially aware, highly organized, and capable of managing projects from planning through execution, delivery, acceptance, and closure.
This role requires someone who pays close attention to cost, schedule, resources, risks, documentation, processes, and deliverables, while coordinating effectively with customers, vendors, technical teams, management, and other project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, execute, monitor, and close technology and AIDC-related projects.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, dependencies, and resource requirements.
- Track project progress closely and ensure deliverables are completed according to agreed scope, schedule, quality, and budget.
- Manage project budgets, cost tracking, quotations, purchase requirements, variations, and financial exposure.
- Maintain strong awareness of project profitability and identify potential cost overruns early.
- Coordinate internal teams, customers, vendors, subcontractors, OEMs, data center operators, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct regular project meetings, progress reviews, and management updates.
- Identify project risks, issues, assumptions, constraints, and dependencies and maintain appropriate Risk / Issue / Action / Decision logs.
- Establish clear ownership and follow up closely on outstanding actions.
- Prepare and maintain professional project documentation, including:
- Project plans
- Scope of Work
- Method of Procedure / Method Statement
- Project schedules
- Risk assessments
- Progress reports
- Meeting minutes
- Change requests
- Handover documents
- Draft, improve, and standardize operational and project processes, SOPs, workflows, checklists, and templates.
- Ensure project changes are properly documented, assessed, approved, and commercially controlled.
- Coordinate deployment activities such as equipment delivery, installation, rack integration, cabling, testing, commissioning, SAT, and handover where applicable.
- Work closely with technical teams and be able to understand technical discussions, dependencies, infrastructure requirements, and implementation challenges.
- Escalate critical risks, schedule impacts, cost issues, and customer concerns to management in a timely manner.
- Ensure project records, approvals, evidence, and documentation are complete and audit-ready.
- Support continuous improvement of the company's project management standards and governance framework.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of Project Management experience, preferably within Malaysia and the regional technology industry.
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, Project Management, Business, or related discipline.
- Experience managing projects in one or more of the following areas is highly preferred:
- AI Data Centers / AIDC
- Data Centers
- AI / GPU Servers
- IT Infrastructure
- Network Infrastructure
- Cloud Infrastructure
- Server / Storage Deployment
- Strong technical interest and ability to understand infrastructure and technology concepts.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent follow-up and organizational skills.
- Good understanding of project budgeting, cost control, resource planning, procurement, and commercial impact.
- Strong documentation and report-writing skills.
- Able to independently develop project processes, SOPs, workflows, templates, and control mechanisms.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-changing environment.
- Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Bahasa Malaysia and/or Mandarin would be an advantage.
- Willing to travel within Malaysia and internationally when required.
