Job Summary

You will design, implement, and manage system monitoring and event management tools to deliver actionable insights and maintain infrastructure health. Collaborate with internal users to create dashboards and reports and support infrastructure upgrades and automation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and configure system monitoring and event management tools such as OEM and BHOM to optimize system performance
• Administer and customize application monitoring, including event correlation across systems, networks, and applications to reduce noise and improve event accuracy
• Integrate monitoring tools like Geneos, Splunk, Entuity, and OEM with event management platforms to streamline event handling
• Develop and maintain custom scripts and programs to automate monitoring and reporting tasks
• Assist internal users in designing and maintaining production-quality dashboards for hardware and event statistics to support operational decision-making
• Configure and manage custom reporting and alerting to ensure timely notification of critical events
• Perform day-to-day operational checks on OCP infrastructure, including system usage monitoring, to maintain system reliability
• Apply basic Oracle database administration skills, including patching and remediation of endpoint vulnerabilities, to support database health
• Assist with Agent/BHOM and OEM version upgrades and infrastructure expansion activities such as agent installation, instance discovery, and database/server configuration
• Prioritize and maintain the monitoring roadmap while remaining hands-on and accountable for delivering measurable outcomes
• Apply knowledge of open systems, virtualization, storage, and networking technologies to support comprehensive monitoring solutions
• Utilize exposure to DevOps tools and concepts, including Chef, Docker containers, and Kubernetes, to enhance automation and infrastructure management
• Implement Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban) and use tools such as JIRA and Confluence to manage projects and collaborate effectively

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Experience with REST APIs and scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript to extend monitoring capabilities
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Chef, Puppet , or Ansible to automate infrastructure provisioning
• Strong knowledge and experience in system administration and IT infrastructure management to support complex environments
