Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QLab Programmer & Operator to manage the design, implementation, and seamless execution of all multimedia cues for our productions. The ideal candidate will be a creative problem-solver with a strong background in live immersive event technology and show control.

Key Responsibilities

• Programming: Design and program QLab show files for audio, video, and lighting cues according to designers' and directors' specifications.
  
• Operation: Manage QLab systems during programming and daily performances, ensuring precise and synchronized cue execution.
  
• System Setup: Able to set up and configure associated hardware, including audio interfaces, video switchers, MIDI/OSC devices, and networking equipment (e.g., Dante, Artnet).
  
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical issues with hardware and software in real time to maintain show quality and prevent disruptions.
  
• Collaboration: Work closely with directors, designers, stage managers, and technical teams to translate creative visions into technical solutions and ensure all production elements are integrated seamlessly.
  
• Documentation: Create and maintain clear technical documentation for show files and system setups.
  
• Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance checks on QLab hardware and software, ensuring all systems are up-to-date and fully functional.
  
  

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proficiency in QLab: Intermediate to Expert-level knowledge of QLab software for audio, video, and lighting control, madmapper software basics.
  
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of live event technology, including signal flow for audio and video, DMX lighting protocols, MIDI, and OSC (Open Sound Control).
  
• Operating Systems: Essential familiarity with the macOS platform, as QLab is exclusive to Apple systems.
  
• Problem-Solving: Resourcefulness and the ability to remain calm and effective when troubleshooting under pressure.
  
• Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively with a team.
  
• Experience: Previous hands-on experience in theatrical or live event production is highly desirable.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with scripting languages like AppleScript for advanced automation.
  
• Certifications in live / experiential events of Audio Visual technology.
  
• Familiarity with digital audio workstations (DAWs) such as Logic Pro or Pro Tools.
  
• Strong technical knowledge of Audio, Video & lighting equipment. Brands example like Analogway, Panasonic, Yamaha, Midas, Martin Audio, Novastar, ACME, Artnet, Dante etc will be a PLUS.
  
• Proficient in controls like Allen & Heath Aventis, Vari lite FLX24, basic PTZ control DANTE etc…
  
• Proficiency in Windows and Macintosh operating systems at an intermediate to advanced level is preferred
