Job Summary

Lead the kitchen team to create innovative menus and deliver high-quality food. Manage kitchen operations including budgeting, inventory, staff training, and hygiene to ensure efficient service and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement innovative, exciting, and on-trend menus to attract and retain customers
• Lead and develop kitchen staff to maximize their performance and maintain high food preparation standards
• Manage kitchen budget by monitoring costs and ensuring expenses stay within budgetary limits
• Order ingredients timely and coordinate food preparation to ensure efficient kitchen operations
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen to comply with safety regulations
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure kitchen equipment is properly maintained and operational
• Collaborate with restaurant management to ensure smooth restaurant operations and high guest satisfaction
• Participate in menu planning meetings with management to align culinary offerings with business goals
• Schedule kitchen staff shifts to ensure adequate coverage during all operating hours
• Stay updated on the latest culinary trends and techniques to continuously improve menu offerings
• Enforce safety and sanitation guidelines among kitchen staff to maintain a safe working environment

Required competencies and certifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Head Chef or in a similar leadership role
• Culinary degree or equivalent qualification
• Proven ability to manage budgets and control kitchen costs effectively
• Strong culinary skills with knowledge of current culinary trends
• Excellent leadership and team management skills to develop and motivate staff
• Effective communication skills to coordinate with team and management
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain high standards
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work in hot and noisy conditions
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required
