Job Description

Responsibilities

Job Role

The Assistant BIM Manager supports the BIM Manager in implementing and managing BIM processes throughout the design and construction stages of building projects. The role is responsible for multidisciplinary BIM coordination, model quality control, drawing coordination, BIM standards, technical coordination and supporting the project team in the effective use of BIM and digital construction technologies.

BIM & Model Coordination

  • Coordinate Architectural, Structural, MEP and specialist trade BIM models.
  • Review and coordinate BIM models to identify design conflicts and construction issues.
  • Lead BIM coordination and clash-detection activities and follow up on the resolution of identified issues.
  • Ensure BIM models comply with project requirements, BIM Execution Plans, modelling standards and relevant industry requirements.
  • Manage model federation, model exchange and information-sharing processes.

Shop Drawing & Technical Coordination

  • Lead the checking and coordination of shop drawings and as-built drawings with Architectural, Structural, MEP and specialist subcontractors.
  • Review project specifications, shop drawings and technical clarifications.
  • Coordinate design and technical issues with consultants, authorities and subcontractors.
  • Assist the project team in resolving technical and coordination issues.

BIM Quality Control

  • Conduct regular quality checks of BIM models and drawings.
  • Ensure models and project information are accurate, properly coordinated and delivered within project requirements and programme.
  • Monitor BIM deliverables and coordinate submissions with consultants and project stakeholders.

Team & Project Support

  • Lead and guide BIM coordinators, BIM modellers and drafters in model production and coordination.
  • Attend and chair BIM/design coordination meetings with consultants and subcontractors.
  • Support the BIM Manager in implementing BIM standards, workflows and digital construction strategies.
  • Assist the project team with design changes and related variation order documentation where required.

Drawing & Document Management

  • Monitor the preparation and progress of shop drawings and sample schedules in coordination with procurement and construction programmes.
  • Manage submission and approval of shop drawings and samples.
  • Manage the receipt, issuance and distribution of consultant and shop drawings.

Job Requirement

  • Recognized Degree in Architecture/ Engineering/ Construction or equivalent.
  • Min 7-8 years of experience in drawing coordination and management in the Singapore Construction Industry.
  • Well versed in Autocad, Revit/BIM software in Architectural/ Structural/ MEP. Candidates with experience in BIM projects are at an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of the Singapore Construction Industry regulations (eg. Building code, BCA, URA and LTA).
  • Experience in leading a team of coordinators and drafters in Shop drawing production, coordination, and document control.
  • A strong team player with strong initiative, independence, good communication skills, and the ability to multi-task.
  • Advantage to the candidate with knowledge in Specialist trade works eg Curtainwall, Stone and Interior design works.
