Job Summary

The Technical Director is responsible for leading the company's technical operations related to ship repair, maintenance, marine engineering, and technical support services. This role ensures that all projects are executed safely, efficiently, within budget, and in compliance with international maritime regulations and customer requirements. The Technical Director provides strategic leadership to the technical team while driving operational excellence, quality, and continuous improvement.
Job Responsibilitie

• Lead and oversee all technicaloperations for ship repair and marine services.
• Develop and implement technicalstrategies to improve operational performance.
• Manage ship repair, maintenance,retrofit, and conversion projects.
• Ensure all work complies withmaritime regulations, class requirements, and company standards.
• Provide technical guidance andsupport to engineering and project teams.
• Review and approve technicaldrawings, specifications, and engineering documents.
• Monitor project schedules,budgets, and technical performance.
• Coordinate with clients,shipowners, classification societies, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Identify and resolve complextechnical issues during project execution.
• Ensure high standards of quality,safety, and environmental compliance.
• Evaluate and approve technicalprocedures, repair methods, and work instructions.
• Lead, mentor, and developengineers and technical personnel.
• Support tender preparation byproviding technical input and cost evaluations.
• Monitor departmental KPIs andimplement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage technical risks and ensureeffective corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop and execute businessdevelopment strategies to increase revenue and market share.
• Identify and secure new businessopportunities with shipowners, ship management companies, offshore operators,and shipyards.
• Build and maintain strongrelationships with key customers, strategic partners, and industrystakeholders.
• Prepare and review technical andcommercial proposals, quotations, and tender submissions.
• Lead contract negotiations andensure successful project awards while maintaining profitability.
• Conduct client meetings,technical presentations, and site visits to promote the company's marineservices.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering, MechanicalEngineering, Naval Architecture, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in ship repair, marineengineering, or shipyard operations.
• At least 5 years in a senior technical management orleadership role.
• Strong knowledge of ship repair, maintenance, and marineengineering systems.
• Familiarity with IMO regulations, SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code,and classification society requirements.
• Experience managing large-scale marine projects andmultidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and people managementskills.
• Strong project planning and organizational abilities.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Strong knowledge of quality, safety, and environmentalmanagement systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project managementsoftware.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, suppliers,and regulatory authorities.
• Strong budgeting, cost control, and resource managementskills.
• Willingness to travel to shipyards, vessels, and clientsites as required.
