Job Description - Engineering Assistant (Inspection)

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the administration and coordination of Welder Performance Qualification Tests (WPQT) and Welder Qualification Tests (WQT).

• Prepare test schedules, inspection reports, qualification records, and supporting documentation.

• Participate in internal and external audits, including preparation of audit evidence and follow-up actions.

• Assist Engineers in managing special projects, technical studies, and client assignments.

• Coordinate with clients, inspectors, and certification bodies.

• Maintain databases, records, and quality documentation.

• Support on-site inspections and witness testing activities when required.

• Perform other engineering and technical duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification

• Polytechnic Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, Welding Engineering, or related engineering discipline.

• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

• Candidates with relevant inspection, QA/QC, welding, or audit experience will have an added advantage.

Essential

• Diploma / Polytechnic graduate in an engineering discipline.

• Good command of written and spoken English & proficient in Mandarin to effectively liaise with Mandarin-speaking clients

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

• Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.

• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

• Able to travel to customer sites within Singapore when required.

Preferred (Not Mandatory)

• Knowledge of welding, NDT, QA/QC, or inspection activities.

• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems.

• Understanding of engineering drawings and technical specifications.

• Exposure to audits, testing, or certification activities.

• CSWIP, ASNT, NACE, or related inspection qualifications.

Notes:

This role is offered on a one-year renewable contract, subject to satisfactory individual performance and business requirements.
