About the Role

Reach Electrical (S) Pte Ltd is a Singapore-based supplier and distributor of industrial heating equipment, including duct heaters, immersion heaters, tubular heating elements, and thyristor power regulators (Hottemp brand). We are looking for a fresh graduate engineer to be personally trained and developed by the Engineering Director into a future Engineering Manager. This is a hands-on, mentorship-driven role — you'll be learning the business from the ground up, working directly alongside senior management on real projects from day one.

No prior industry experience required. We're looking for the right attitude, strong fundamentals, and a genuine interest in industrial/electrical engineering.

What You'll Learn & Do

Phase 1 — Foundations (approx. first 6–12 months)

  • Learn heating element theory and product range (duct heaters, immersion heaters, tubular elements, thyristor/SCR power regulators)
  • Assist in BOM preparation (Tender and Shop versions) and element summary sheets under supervision
  • Learn to read and produce technical schedule drawings (Word/AutoCAD) for duct heater and control panel projects
  • Shadow RFQ preparation and supplier/vendor coordination
  • Get familiar with relevant standards (SS 638, EN 60335-1, UL 1996, EN 1092-1)

Phase 2 — Applied Engineering (approx. year 1–2)

  • Take ownership of BOM and documentation for live projects, with review and guidance
  • Learn electrical control panel design fundamentals — contactor sizing, control transformers, relay/logic circuits
  • Support Certificate of Conformity and technical compliance documentation
  • Begin direct interface with customers and consultants on technical queries
  • Participate in supplier negotiations and technical evaluation

Phase 3 — Growing into Management (year 2+)

  • Take on project ownership end-to-end, with the MD as a sounding board rather than supervisor
  • Begin mentoring newer hires/draughtsmen as the team grows
  • Get involved in engineering process design, ERP/workflow structuring, and cross-functional coordination with sales and procurement
  • Progressively take on people and process management responsibilities, working toward the Engineering Manager role

What We're Looking For

Qualifications

  • Fresh graduate (or up to 1–2 years' experience) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering, or related field
  • No prior industrial heating or HVAC experience necessary — full training provided

Attributes

  • Genuine curiosity about how things are engineered and built
  • Strong Excel aptitude (or willingness to become strong — this role lives in Excel: BOMs, ratings, summaries)
  • Comfortable with technical documentation and attention to detail
  • Willing to be hands-on — this isn't a purely desk-bound role; expect site visits, supplier interactions, and problem-solving on the fly
  • Coachable, with the maturity to take direct, frequent feedback and apply it
  • Reliable and low-drama — you'll be trusted with real responsibility early

Nice to Have (not required)

  • Exposure to AutoCAD, control panel design, or electrical standards through coursework/internships
  • Interest in international sourcing/logistics (we work with overseas suppliers)

Why This Role Is Different

This isn't a standard graduate rotation program. You'll be working closely, directly, and often one-on-one with the Managing Director, who is personally invested in developing you into the company's future Engineering Manager. You'll see the real mechanics of the business — technical, commercial, and operational — far earlier than you would in a larger organization. The growth ceiling is high, but so is the expectation that you show up ready to learn fast.
