About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and practical Engineering Assistant to support our refrigeration and cold room engineering projects.

The role is primarily focused on technical drafting, preparation of engineering documentation, simple design calculations and coordination with production and project teams.

The successful candidate will prepare AutoCAD drawings and SolidWorks models for condensing units, refrigeration racks and related equipment. Training will be provided in refrigeration fundamentals, cold room heat-load calculation, equipment selection and project execution.

This position is suitable for person who enjoy technical drawing, mechanical design and practical engineering work. The candidate should be willing to work both in the office and in production or project-site environments when required.

Key Responsibilities

Drafting and Design Support

• Prepare and revise 2D AutoCAD drawings, including cold room layouts, equipment layouts, piping schematics and P&ID.
• Prepare 3D SolidWorks models and assembly drawings for condensing units, refrigeration racks, frames and related components.
• Convert sketches, site measurements and engineering instructions into clear technical drawings.
• Prepare fabrication drawings, assembly details, equipment schedules and drawing revisions.
• Assist in performing simple cold room heat-load calculations using company templates or software.
• Assist with basic equipment sizing and selection.
• Prepare and update Bills of Materials and component lists.

Production and Project Coordination

• Coordinate with the production team regarding condensing unit and refrigeration rack fabrication.
• Check equipment dimensions, component arrangement, piping routing and service accessibility.
• Support the preparation of equipment documentation.
• Follow up on drawing changes, material requirements and production progress.
• Work with suppliers and internal teams to clarify technical information.

Site and Customer Support

• Attend site surveys and customer meetings together with project engineers when required.
• Take site measurements, photographs and equipment information for drawing preparation.
• Compare actual site conditions against drawings and update drawings accordingly.
• Assist with installation checks, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Be willing to perform practical checks in the workshop, production area or project site.

Key Responsibilities (for ads posting)

• Prepare and update 2D/3D engineering drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Assist in the design and documentation of cold room and refrigeration systems.
• Prepare the necessary technical drawing.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOM), equipment schedules, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with production, suppliers, and project teams to support project execution.
• Conduct site measurements and update drawings based on actual site conditions.
• Assist with installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities when required.

Requirements

• Minimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Refrigeration, Air-Conditioning or a related engineering discipline.
• NITEC or Higher NITEC candidates with strong drafting experience may also be considered.
• Proficient in AutoCAD 2D.
• Basic to intermediate SolidWorks experience is required.
• Able to prepare or understand technical drawings, assembly drawings and P&ID.
• Basic understanding of mechanical systems, heat transfer or refrigeration is an advantage.
• Experience in HVAC&R, cold rooms, mechanical fabrication or project coordination is an advantage.
• Careful and able to pay attention to dimensions, equipment tags, drawing revisions and technical details.
• Willing to learn simple heat-load calculations and refrigeration equipment selection.
• Willing to work hands-on and attend customer sites or production areas when required.
• Able to communicate and coordinate with engineers, technicians, production workers and customers.
