Position Overview

Job Title: Software Developer

Employment Type: Contract (6–12 Months)

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated Software Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and systems. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions that meet business and client requirements, while adhering to best practices in software engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software applications based on business and technical requirements.
• Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and testable code following coding standards and best practices.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
• Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, QA, and other developers to deliver solutions on time and within scope.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application defects and production issues in a timely manner.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and user guides.
• Integrate applications with third-party systems, APIs, and databases as required.
• Participate in unit testing, integration testing, and support UAT activities.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, frameworks, and industry best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 2–5 years of relevant working experience in software development (adjust based on role seniority).
• Familiarity with software development methodologies (Agile/Scrum, Waterfall).
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Good command of English, both written and verbal.

Preferred Skills (Added Advantage)

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Exposure to microservices architecture and RESTful API development.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools and DevOps practices.
• Experience with front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Relevant certifications in software development or cloud technologies.

Other Information

• This is a fixed-term contract position open to local Malaysian talent.
• Candidate must be willing to be based on-site at the client's office location as required.
• Working hours and benefits are in accordance with Virtual Calibre's standard contract terms.

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
