Job Description

Responsibilities

Finance Intern | Winter Intake | Financial Services, Business Exposure & Professional Growth (Limited Intake)

Financial Literacy | Industry Exposure | Entrepreneurial Thinking

The best professional development happens when you are trusted with meaningful work, surrounded by people who want to see you grow, and challenged to think beyond what is expected of you.

Our Winter Finance Internship gives students and young adults the opportunity to gain practical exposure to the financial services industry while developing the judgement, confidence, and professional discipline needed to thrive in a fast-moving environment.

You’ll work alongside experienced professionals, contribute to real initiatives, and learn how ideas move from discussion to execution. We believe strong teams are built by people who are willing to challenge themselves, support one another, and take pride in what they build together. The goal is not simply to prepare you for your next job, but to help you develop the mindset to recognise opportunities, make decisions, and create value wherever you go.

Role Focus

This internship is centred around two key areas of development:

Financial Literacy: Build a practical understanding of financial concepts, financial decision-making, market developments, and the principles behind long-term financial well-being.

Industry Exposure: Gain first-hand insight into the financial services industry through practical projects, mentorship, business discussions, and exposure to how professional teams operate.

You’ll be given opportunities to move beyond observation — applying what you learn, contributing ideas, and gradually taking greater responsibility as you develop.

What You'll Do

  • Get involved in real business projects where your ideas, effort, and contribution can make a difference.
  • Support the planning and execution of initiatives, learning how professional teams turn ideas into action.
  • Conduct research, gather information, and connect insights to practical business decisions.
  • Participate in discussions and learning sessions covering financial concepts, market developments, business strategy, and industry trends.
  • Work alongside team members to identify challenges, explore solutions, and improve how things are done.
  • Take ownership of assigned projects and follow through from preparation to execution and review.
  • Develop presentations, proposals, reports, and other materials that support ongoing business initiatives.
  • Approach unfamiliar problems with curiosity, resourcefulness, and a willingness to figure things out.
  • Work closely with others, contribute where help is needed, and play an active role in creating a supportive team environment.
  • Receive mentorship and feedback while being encouraged to think independently and take increasing responsibility for your development.

What You'll Gain

  • First-hand exposure to how the financial services industry operates beyond the classroom.
  • Practical experience contributing to real projects and business initiatives.
  • A stronger understanding of financial literacy, markets, and professional decision-making.
  • The confidence to take initiative, communicate ideas, and approach challenges independently.
  • Experience learning how to turn ideas into practical action.
  • Stronger analytical, communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • An understanding of how effective teams collaborate, support one another, and work towards shared outcomes.
  • Mentorship from experienced professionals who are invested in helping you develop.
  • A professional mindset built around learning, responsibility, adaptability, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience that can strengthen your résumé and prepare you for future internships, graduate programmes, and professional opportunities.

Who We Want

We’re looking for people who want to do more than simply complete an internship.

We value people who are prepared to put in the effort, learn from setbacks, and contribute to the success of the wider team.

Ideal candidates are:

  • Driven and committed to becoming better at what they do.
  • Resilient when faced with challenges, setbacks, or unfamiliar situations.
  • Responsible and willing to follow through on their commitments.
  • Curious, thoughtful, and eager to understand how things work.
  • Proactive in identifying opportunities, solving problems, and getting things moving.
  • Supportive teammates who understand the importance of helping those around them succeed.
  • Clear and professional communicators who are open to feedback and new perspectives.
  • Adaptable and comfortable stepping outside their comfort zone.
  • Interested in understanding how businesses operate and developing a broader commercial perspective.
  • Ready to think beyond instructions and develop the judgement to make decisions for themselves.

Prior finance experience is not required. We care more about how you approach learning, responsibility, challenges, and the people you work with than what is already on your résumé.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

As positions are limited, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
