About the role

This is a painting role involving surface preparation, paint application, and finishing work on interior and exterior projects to professional standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, filling cracks, and applying primer
• Protect floors, furniture, fixtures, and surrounding areas before starting work
• Mix and match paints to achieve the required colour and finish
• Apply paint, stain, varnish, or protective coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
• Complete interior and exterior painting to the required quality standard
• Inspect finished work, correct defects, and perform touch-ups
• Maintain tools and equipment in safe, clean working condition
• Follow workplace safety procedures, including correct handling of chemicals and working at height
• Estimate materials, minimise waste, and report supply requirements
• Keep the work area clean and complete projects within agreed timelines

About you

• Class 3 driving license required (Company van, shell card and parking provided)
• Practical experience in residential, commercial, or industrial painting
• Strong knowledge of surface preparation and paint-application techniques
• Ability to use brushes, rollers, ladders, scaffolding, and spray equipment safely
• Good colour recognition and attention to detail
• Physical ability to stand, bend, climb, lift materials, and perform repetitive tasks
• Understanding of personal protective equipment and chemical-handling procedures
• Ability to read basic work instructions and follow specifications
• Reliable attendance and willingness to work at different sites or outside normal hours when required
• Preferred: Relevant trade certification, apprenticeship, or vocational training; experience with spray painting, decorative finishes, wallpapering, or industrial coatings; working-at-height, scaffolding, or workplace-safety certification; experience estimating labour and materials; basic customer-service and problem-solving skills; familiarity with environmentally responsible paints and disposal practices

Pay: $2,000.00 - $3,500.00 per month
