Automation Tester (Selenium) with JAVA/PYTHON

Location: Kuala Lumpur

Salary: 15–20% increment from current salary (Open Budget)

We are looking for an experienced Automation Tester to join our team and support software quality assurance activities across web-based applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and executing test cases, developing and maintaining automation scripts, identifying defects, and ensuring applications meet business and technical requirements.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with Selenium using Java or Python, along with a solid understanding of software testing methodologies. Experience with JavaScript or Ruby will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain high-quality test cases based on business and technical requirements using tools such as Excel and JIRA.
• Perform peer-to-peer reviews of test cases to ensure quality, completeness, and appropriate test coverage.
• Create, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for web-based applications using Selenium with Java or Python.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Java or Python.
• Perform both manual and automation testing to ensure applications function as expected and comply with requirements and specifications.
• Create and maintain appropriate test data for automation and manual testing activities.
• Execute functional, regression, integration, and system testing as required.
• Identify, document, track, and follow up on software defects through appropriate defect management tools.
• Capture and maintain test results, screenshots, logs, and other test evidence in an organised manner.
• Perform database validation and data verification using SQL queries.
• Analyse test results and investigate issues to identify potential root causes.
• Work closely with developers, business analysts, project teams, and other stakeholders to resolve defects and ensure timely delivery.
• Support multiple testing projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting agreed timelines.
• Participate in test planning, estimation, execution, and reporting activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes, automation frameworks, and quality assurance practices.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver.
• Proficiency in Java or Python for automation testing.
• Experience developing and maintaining automated test scripts.
• Good understanding of software testing methodologies, approaches, and best practices.
• Good working knowledge of SQL and database validation.
• Experience with test case management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA.

Good-to-Have Skills

• JavaScript

• Experience with QTP/UFT or other automation testing tools.
• Experience with automation testing frameworks.
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum development and testing environments.

Required Experience

• 4–8 years of relevant experience in Software Quality Assurance / Software Testing.
• Strong hands-on experience in Selenium automation testing using Java or Python.
• Experience in both manual and automation testing.
• Experience testing web-based applications.
• Experience developing, maintaining, and executing automation test scripts.
• Experience working on multiple testing projects or applications simultaneously.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a hands-on QA professional with strong experience in Selenium automation using either Java or Python. You should have a solid understanding of software testing practices, be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and have the ability to manage multiple testing activities while collaborating effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

Pay: RM7,500.00 - RM9,000.00 per month
