Role Summary
The Junior Network Security Engineer is responsible for supporting and maintaining the security posture of both internal and customer network environments. This role bridges network security and system administration, focusing on threat monitoring, vulnerability management, incident response, and continuous improvement of security policies. The engineer will also serve as a technical resource to clients, ensuring secure and reliable operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts, logs, and events from network, application, and cloud security platforms.
- Respond to security incidents, perform initial investigation, and escalate when required.
- Manage and maintain web application security controls to protect against common attacks (e.g., OWASP Top 10).
- Support access control and privileged account management, including credential handling and policy enforcement.
- Perform traffic analysis and filtering to detect malicious activities and ensure secure content delivery.
- Assist in threat intelligence monitoring and proactive identification of potential security risks.
- Configure and maintain security policies for network, application, and cloud environments.
- Support vulnerability management activities, including scanning, remediation, and system hardening.
- Troubleshoot security and network issues related to connectivity, performance, and protection mechanisms.
- Perform regular security reviews and recommend improvements to strengthen overall security posture.
- Document incidents, changes, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Work closely with customers and internal teams to ensure timely resolution of issues and service requests.
Requirement:
- Diploma / Degree holder in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, Network Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2–4 years of hands-on experience in Cybersecurity, Network Infrastructure, or System Administration.
- Critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of initiatives.
- Effective communication skills (written & oral) for customer-facing interactions.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, multi-vendor environment.

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
