Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Finance Manager role based in Penang, Malaysia. The Finance Manager oversees daily accounting operations, including general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, cash flow monitoring, and monthly closing activities. The role is responsible for preparing financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support decision-making by senior leadership. The Finance Manager also manages compliance with local financial regulations, tax requirements, and internal controls, while coordinating with external auditors and financial institutions as needed. In addition, this role collaborates with other departments to evaluate business performance, optimize costs, and support strategic projects and investments.
Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in financial accounting, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, with the ability to interpret and present financial data clearly.
  • Experience in cash flow management, cost control, and financial analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Knowledge of local tax regulations, compliance requirements, and internal control frameworks, preferably within a retail or commercial property environment.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and MS Excel, including the use of spreadsheets, financial models, and reporting tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA) are an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on-site in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and present insights to management.
  • Previous experience in a managerial or supervisory finance role, including mentoring or overseeing finance and accounting staff.
