Responsibilities

Job Summary 

The Projet Engineer (NPI) is responsible for planning (Progress Gantt Chart), coordinating, and executing New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from customer inquiry through mass production. The role ensures new products are launched on time, within budget, and meet customer quality, cost, and delivery requirements. The Project Engineer serves as the primary technical interface between customers and internal cross-functional teams, driving project execution, process development, risk management, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities : 

  • Manage NPI projects from quotation, prototype, pilot build, qualification, to mass production.

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including Engineering, Production, Quality, Planning, Purchasing, and Supply Chain.

  • Review customer drawings, specifications, and technical requirements to ensure manufacturability.

  • Develop project timelines, milestones, and resource plans while monitoring project progress.

  • Lead Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Process FMEA (PFMEA), Control Plan, and Process Flow development.

  • Coordinate tooling, fixtures, machine readiness, and production process validation.

  • Drive APQP, PPAP, FAI, and customer qualification activities where applicable.

  • Monitor project risks and implement corrective and preventive actions to achieve project objectives.

  • Prepare project status reports and conduct regular customer and internal project review meetings.

  • Support Engineering Change Notices (ECN), process improvements, and cost reduction initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with company Quality Management System (ISO 9001 where applicable) and customer requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related discipline.

  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in NPI, Manufacturing Engineering, or Project Engineering.

  • Knowledge of CNC machining, precision manufacturing, or semiconductor manufacturing is an advantage.

  • Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, Control Plan, and Lean Manufacturing.

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.

  • Strong project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems; CAD software knowledge is an added advantag
