The company also specializes in key powerplant lines including the Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A and PW100/PW150A families, supported by major global facilities like its turboprop Center of Excellence in Summerside, Canada.

StandardAero operates a major turboprop engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility at 100 Seletar Aerospace View, Singapore 797507. It serves as an authorized Pratt & Whitney Canada Designated Overhaul Facility (DOF) specializing heavily in the PW150A turboprop engine MRO

Position Title: Manager, Engineering &Technical Training

Reports to: Site General Manager

Work Location: Singapore Seletar Site

Nature & Scope of Position

The Manager of Engineering, reporting directly to the General Manager of StandardAero Singapore Seletar with a dotted line to the Director of Engineering for Turbo Props, is responsible for providing leadership and training within the Engineering team.

Strategic Leadership

  • Behaving in a manner that promotes, and is aligned with, StandardAero’s Mission, Vision and Values
  • Providing management and leadership for technical issues within the site
  • Tracking and recommending NCR authority to technical personal
  • Overseeing engine investigations and reporting findings
  • Acting as a liaison with the OEM, vendors and customers on technical issues and concerns
  • Coordinate collaboration across StandardAero network of turboprop engine centers to drive alignment and best practices
  • Supporting the development of operational and continuous improvement skills and knowledge throughout the sites

Teamwork

  • Working effectively with other members of the management team to achieve business goals
  • Participating in the strategic and operational governance processes of StandardAero

Divisional Planning & Plan Execution

  • Establishing, tracking and managing against goals, objectives and operating procedures
  • Assessing risks associated with plans and operations, working with other divisional and corporate groups to develop and implement solutions to mitigate/eliminate risk

Departmental Operations

  • Lead, manage the team on engineering workflows for PW150A modules, including the reduction gearbox (RGB), hot section, and test cell correlation
  • Oversee powerplant engineers on technical data review and applicability to shop procedure, work repair plans for engines and components undergoing repair and overhaul, review engine test cell performance and methods to reduce test cell rejections
  • Lead the assessment and mitigation of known or emerging technical risks, service disruptions, findings review, Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives specific to the PW150A turboprop powerplant and its installation on Bombardier Dash ************* / Q400 aircraft
  • Oversees the analysis of parts of hardware scrap trends to define opportunities for recurring maintenance cost savings
  • Develop and drive growth task opportunities through the design, development and substantiation of repair solution
  • Supporting continuous improvement processes and programs
  • Ensuring a safe and productive workplace
  • Modeling behaviors consistent with good quality, health and safety, and environmental management practices

Customer Service

  • Providing direct support on technical issues within the Customer and Engineering department to assist in developing strong relationships with customers and OEMs on the basis of superior customer service
  • Understanding customer needs and responding with innovative, cost effective, quality products and solutions while maintaining regulatory requirements

People Management

  • Building and sustaining a team capable of doing the work
  • Ensuring that department employees have the resources and opportunity for development in order to do their work
  • Providing ongoing and proactive performance management

Financial Management

  • Achieve financial targets by partnering with other SA functional leads to identify, develop and implement shop visit cost reduction initiatives 
  • Developing business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for departmental spending and initiatives

Qualifications

  •  Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a recognized institution
  • 10+ years’ experience in progressively responsible and complex roles in the aerospace aftermarket MRO industry
  • Deep working knowledge of gas turbine or turboprop principles, specifically multi-spool architectures, reduction gearboxes, FADEC System, centrifugal compressor and reverse-flow combustors
  • Technical familiarity with Pratt & Whitney PW100/PW150 series turboprop architecture, teardown, and assembly standards and may include past line and base maintenance training or general familiarization training
  • Demonstrated work history inclusive of PW150 and/or PW100 turboprop engine variant, engine failure analysis, performance testing, and MRO shop floor liaison in compliance to Pratt & Whitney Canada OEM standards
  •  Knowledgeable and experienced on analysis such as Engine Condition Trend Monitoring (ECTM) data, FADEC systems, metal-in-oil(MIO) reports, fuel metering units, reduction gear box interactions during test operations and borescope inspection (BSI) results to predict component wear.
  • Good understanding of airworthiness regulations requirements and OEM engine maintenance protocols.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge and experience in the use of MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Navixa, and Airsoft, as well as Digital Cameras and photo software
