Job Description

  • Advise on-site team to discharge their statutory duties under the WSH Act.
  • Assist the team in the identification of workplace safety and health and environmental risks and in recommending and implementation of the necessary control measures.
  • Disseminating and implementing updates to the onsite team on the WSH Act, environmental, and other legal requirements.
  • Conducting and reviewing risk assessments and aspect and impact analysis, the recommendation of safety measures, safe work procedures, and environmental matters.
  • Work closely with the business partner for documents submission pertaining to EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) to customers according to customers' requirements.
  • Maintaining EHS management system documents and ensuring enforcement.
  • Monitoring and reporting EHS performance on a regular basis, including timely incident investigations and reporting.
  • Assisting Site/EHS Manager in rehearsing emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Conducting environmental, health, and safety audits for site operations and recommending continual improvements.
  • Organize, facilitate and/ or participate in external audit (e.g., ConSASS).
  • Qualifying contractors and suppliers to ensure that they comply with the company's site environmental, health and safety standards and policies.
  • Plan and/ or work closely with customers (internal or external) and/ or business partners (including joint consortium business partner, in-house contractor, and/ or sub-contractor) to conduct the inspection at the work site so as to rectify any unsafe practices or conditions and also to comply with customers’ requirements.
  • Reviewing and identifying safety competency training for site staff on safe work practices and procedures.
  • Work with tender submissions in respect to EHS.
  • Organizing EHS outreach activities and promotional programmes for ENGIE site staff.
  • Prepare and submit HSE reports to the Corporate HSE Department, Project/Site Managers, and Customers.
  • Any other ad-hoc EHS duties as and when assigned by top management or reporting supervisor.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Occupational Safety, Occupational Health, Occupational Hygiene, Ergonomics, Psychology, Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry or other topics relevant to Occupational Safety and Health;
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in relevant trade for the EHS Officer role
  • Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer with MOM For EHS Officer role.
  • Possess internal auditing skills on ISO 14001 & ISO 45001
  • Detailed understanding and knowledge on WSH Act, environmental & other legal requirements
  • Able to organize and carry out EHS-related training and group meeting.
  • Able to establish and maintain a system of records and quality-related documentation
  • Able to attain all the necessary permits and licenses
  • Proactive, independent, able to work with minimal supervision and perform under pressure.
  • Possess a high level of initiative and integrity.
  • Able to work independently and possess good interpersonal skills.
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Registered as ECO will have added advantages.
