Role Description This full-time, on-site Technician role is based at a Novotel property in Singapore. The Technician is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and repair of hotel facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and equipment, to ensure a safe, comfortable, and fully operational environment. Typical tasks include conducting routine inspections, diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues, responding to maintenance requests, and coordinating with external vendors when necessary. The role also involves monitoring building systems, adhering to safety and regulatory standards, maintaining accurate maintenance records, and supporting hotel operations to minimize disruption to guests. The Technician works closely with the engineering and operations teams to uphold Novotel’s quality standards and deliver a seamless guest experience.

Qualifications

• Strong technical skills in general maintenance and repair (e.g., basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry) and ability to troubleshoot common building system issues.
• Experience in facility or hotel maintenance, with understanding of safety, regulatory, and preventive maintenance practices.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, work orders, and simple diagrams, and to use appropriate tools and equipment safely.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests and collaborate effectively with hotel staff.
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple maintenance requests.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required by hotel operations.
• Relevant technical certification or diploma in engineering, building services, or a related field is preferred.
• Previous experience in hospitality or commercial property maintenance in Singapore is an advantage.
