The Systems Support Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, security, and maintenance of the company's IT infrastructure. This role ensures the availability, performance, scalability, and security of infrastructure supporting the studio's production environment while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, administer, and maintain on-premise and cloud infrastructure.
• Manage Linux and Windows servers, virtualization platforms, and enterprise services.
• Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability, ensuring reliable operation of production systems.
• Administer enterprise storage solutions including RAID, NAS, SAN, and ZFS technologies.
• Manage LAN, WAN, VPN, wireless networks, switches, routers, firewalls, and network security.
• Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and related identity services.
• Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls, vulnerability management, patch management, and endpoint security.
• Design, maintain, and regularly test backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Support production infrastructure, version control systems (SVN and Git), and automation initiatives.
• Develop automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages.
• Lead infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and technology improvement projects.
• Maintain technical documentation, infrastructure standards, SOPs, and network diagrams.
• Provide technical guidance to Desktop Support personnel and serve as the escalation point for complex infrastructure issues.
• Participate in scheduled after-hours maintenance and emergency support when required.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Systems Administration or Infrastructure Engineering.
• Strong experience administering Linux (Ubuntu/Rocky Linux) and Windows Server environments.
• Solid knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Windows Server administration.
• Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, or Proxmox.
• Knowledge of enterprise storage technologies including RAID, NAS, SAN, and ZFS.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, VPNs, switching, and firewalls.
• Experience configuring and maintaining pfSense firewalls.
• Experience managing Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace environments.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and Apache Subversion (SVN).
• Proficiency in scripting using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar languages.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple infrastructure projects simultaneously.
• Willingness to perform scheduled after-hours maintenance and respond to critical incidents.
• Previous experience supporting an animation studio, game studio, VFX studio, or similar creative production environment will be an added advantage.
