About the Role
Kutub Trading is looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Assistant to support the day-to-day financial and accounting operations of our wholesale and retail business. The successful candidate will assist with bookkeeping, invoicing, and reconciliation to ensure accurate and timely financial records.

Key Responsibilities

• Record and maintain accurate daily accounting transactions (sales, purchases, receipts, payments)
• Prepare and issue invoices, delivery orders, and credit notes for wholesale and retail customers
• Perform daily/weekly reconciliation of cash, bank, and sales records
• Assist in accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including tracking outstanding payments and following up with customers/suppliers
• Update and maintain proper filing of accounting documents, receipts, and invoices
• Assist with data entry into accounting software (e.g., SQL, AutoCount, or similar)
• Support month-end closing activities and preparation of basic financial reports
• Liaise with internal departments (sales, warehouse, transport) to verify transaction accuracy
• Assist with stock/inventory value reconciliation where required
• Handle petty cash management and related documentation
• Support the accounts team with ad-hoc administrative and clerical tasks

Requirements

• Degree/Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 1–2 years of relevant experience preferred (fresh graduates with strong accounting fundamentals may be considered)
• Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., SQL Accounting, QuickBooks, Xero, or similar) is an advantage
• Proficient in MS Excel and basic computer applications
• Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
• Good organizational and time-management skills
• Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
• Good communication skills; proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia
