Job Description

We are looking for a responsible and experienced Chief Cook to oversee daily food preparation and kitchen operations. The successful candidate will ensure that meals are prepared to the highest standards of quality, hygiene, and consistency while supporting the efficient operation of the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and present menu items in accordance with established recipes and quality standards.
• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production.
• Plan food preparation schedules and ensure timely service during operating hours.
• Monitor food quality, taste, and presentation to maintain consistency.
• Ensure proper food handling, storage, and inventory management to minimise wastage.
• Assist in ordering ingredients and maintaining adequate stock levels.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations, including Singapore Food Agency (SFA) requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen equipment, workstations, and storage areas.
• Train and guide junior kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and kitchen procedures.
• Work closely with restaurant management to maintain operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Assist in menu planning and the introduction of new dishes when required.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of relevant experience as a Chief Cook, Senior Cook, or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations.
• Familiarity with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
• Good leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
