Job Title: Senior Network / Systems Engineer

Role Purpose:

To design, validate and support scalable network and systems solutions for Magnifi’s client environments, ensuring technical soundness from proposal through deployment. This role serves as an engineering anchor within project delivery, reducing reliance on senior leadership for solution design and technical escalation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement network and systems solutions based on client requirements, industry standards, and approved budgets.

• Prepare and maintain high-level and low-level design documentation, including logical and physical network diagrams.

• Evaluate technical scenarios and conduct lab testing to validate proposed or conceptual designs.

• Execute pilot testing and support controlled deployments in live/client environments.

• Provide alternative design options and product comparisons, including features, advantages, and limitations.

• Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for engineering-related network and systems issues during project delivery.

• Support deployment and configuration of Linux-based systems within client environments where required.

• Act as a technical escalation point within the engineering team when required.

• Work closely with the Head of Department (HOD) to ensure design quality and delivery standards, including task assignment and coordination of junior engineering resources.

• Coordinate with PMO, DOC Operations, and other stakeholders to meet project timelines.

• Support documentation, knowledge sharing, and mentoring of junior engineers.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in network engineering, solution design, and project implementation.

• Strong hands-on experience with enterprise networking technologies including routers, switches, firewalls, VPN concentrators, and wireless access points.

• Working knowledge of Linux-based systems, including system configuration, network interfaces, firewall rules, and basic command-line troubleshooting.

• Solid understanding of IPSec VPN, BGP, OSPF, VRRP, MPLS, and cellular connectivity (LTE / 4G / 5G).

• Experience working with enterprise firewall platforms such as Fortinet (FortiGate), Cisco, Juniper, or Palo Alto.

• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are an added advantage.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in project-based environments.

• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

• Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g. VMware, Hyper-V) is an added advantage.

• Exposure to MSP or multi-site enterprise deployments is a plus.

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
