Centre for Novostics (*************), a subsidiary of TR at CUHK Co. Ltd., has a vision to develop cutting-edge molecular diagnostics based on cell-free nucleic acids in blood and other bodily fluids. We are currently looking for a Genome Data Assistant to commence as soon as possible on a contract basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. The appointee will play a vital role in:

Responsibilities:

• Supporting the Genome Data Manager in updating and maintaining the sequencing database;
• Coordinating with research scientists to prepare and deliver datasets;
• Receiving, converting and storing data, as well as performing standard alignment protocols;
• Other ad hoc duties as assigned by the Genome Data Manager or the group.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, computer science, information technology or related field;
• Familiarity with common genomics data formats (e.g., FASTQ, BAM/CRAM, VCF) and commonly used genomic analysis tools and workflows;
• Experience working in a Linux/Unix environment;
• Proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages, such as Shell, Perl, Python, or R;
• Good written and spoken English communication skills;
• Positive learning attitude.
