Placement: Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur

Status: Permanent

Job Description:

1. Monitor optical transmission network management systems during normal working hours.
2. Monitor, analyze, and handle network alarms related to OTN and SDH equipment.
3. Perform initial troubleshooting and fault isolation for transmission equipment, optical links, ports, boards, optical modules, and related network components.
4. Coordinate with customers, internal technical teams, remote support engineers, equipment vendors, and data center personnel.
5. Respond to urgent on-site network incidents and support fault recovery.
6. Conduct basic on-site inspections, equipment checks, fiber connection checks, module or board replacement, and other required maintenance activities.
7. Collect alarm records, system logs, equipment information, and on-site evidence for further technical analysis.
8. Escalate complex technical issues to the relevant Level 2 or Level 3 support teams and follow up until resolution.
9. Prepare daily monitoring records, fault reports, incident updates, and maintenance reports when required.
10. Support network equipment installation, commissioning, testing, service activation, and project delivery activities when necessary.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree or above in Telecommunications Engineering, Network Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
2. At least 2–3 years of experience in optical transmission network operation, maintenance, technical support, or project delivery.
3. Good understanding of OTN and SDH principles, network architecture, equipment operation, and common alarm handling.
4. Hands-on experience with optical transmission equipment from major vendors such as Huawei, ZTE, Nokia, Ciena, FiberHome, Ericsson, or equivalent brands.
5. Experience using transmission network management systems and handling common alarms such as LOS, LOF, optical power abnormalities, board failures, port failures, and link interruptions.
6. Experience in equipment installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, or project delivery is preferred.
7. Experience in large-scale network construction or maintenance for internet companies, telecom operators, data centers, system integrators, or equipment vendors is preferred.
8. Able to perform initial fault diagnosis independently and communicate technical issues clearly to customers and internal teams.
9. Strong communication skills, learning ability, sense of responsibility, and ability to work under pressure.
10. Fluent working proficiency in English is required, Fluency in Mandarin language will be a big plus.
11. Willing to work on-site at Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, and provide emergency support when required.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Experience as an Optical Transmission Engineer, Transmission Network Engineer, NOC Engineer, Field Maintenance Engineer, Technical Support Engineer, or Telecom Project Engineer.
• Familiar with data center environments and transmission network operations.
• Able to work independently as the on-site technical contact.
• Stable, responsible, responsive, and capable of coordinating multiple stakeholders during network incidents.

Budget: 6,000 - 8,000 MYR (Gross) (Negotiable)
