The Accounts Assistant is responsible for supporting the daily accounting and finance operations of the company. The role includes maintaining accounting records, processing invoices and payments, performing reconciliations and assisting with month-end closing and statutory reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle daily accounting transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger entries.
- Prepare and issue sales invoices, credit notes and debit notes.
- Record supplier invoices, staff claims and other business expenses accurately in the accounting system.
- Process payments to suppliers and other parties in accordance with the company’s approval procedures.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up with customers on overdue payments.
- Perform bank reconciliations and investigate any outstanding or unusual items.
- Maintain proper filing of invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, bank documents and other accounting records.
- Assist in preparing monthly management accounts and financial schedules.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Prepare supporting schedules for audit, tax and statutory reporting purposes.
- Assist with SST, withholding tax, e-Invoice and other regulatory compliance matters, where applicable.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, auditors, tax agents, bankers and other external parties on routine accounting matters.
- Maintain the fixed asset register and assist with depreciation calculations.
- Assist with petty cash management and staff expense reimbursements.
- Ensure all accounting transactions are recorded accurately and on a timely basis.
- Perform general administrative and accounting duties assigned by the supervisor or management.
Requirements
- Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Candidates with accounting or bookkeeping experience will have an added advantage.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as SQL Accounting, AutoCount, UBS, Xero, QuickBooks or similar software will be an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Ability to communicate in Mandarin will be an added advantage.

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
