IT Software Developer (.NET)

Location: Bayan Lepas, Penang, Malaysia

Employment Type: Contract (Renewable)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced IT Software Developer (.NET) to join a Manufacturing IT team supporting digital transformation and Quality Engineering initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and maintaining enterprise applications that improve manufacturing operations and business processes.

This role offers the opportunity to work on modern application development, system integration, and enterprise software solutions within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesApplication Development

• Design, develop, and enhance enterprise applications using Microsoft .NET technologies.
• Develop RESTful APIs, web services, backend components, and automation solutions.
• Enhance and maintain existing business-critical manufacturing applications.
• Develop scalable, maintainable, and high-performance software solutions.

System Integration

• Perform system integration analysis and ensure seamless communication between enterprise applications.
• Develop and maintain API integrations and data exchange interfaces.
• Prepare technical specifications and integration documentation.

Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

• Participate in requirement gathering, technical analysis, solution design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Perform impact analysis for system enhancements and change requests.
• Develop unit tests and support System Integration Testing (SIT).
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, QA Engineers, and Infrastructure teams throughout the development lifecycle.

User Acceptance Testing & Deployment

• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
• Perform data validation and resolve application defects.
• Assist in production deployments and post-implementation support.
• Monitor application performance and provide continuous improvements.

Maintenance & Support

• Troubleshoot application issues and resolve software defects.
• Perform root cause analysis for production incidents.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
• Ensure applications comply with organizational development standards and security best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in software development.
• Strong experience developing enterprise applications using Microsoft technologies.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum development methodologies.
• Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, Team Foundation Server (TFS), or similar version control systems.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of Data Analytics, Machine Learning, or AI-based applications is an added advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing enterprise web applications in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Familiarity with software architecture, design patterns, and secure coding practices.
• Microsoft .NET or Azure certifications are an added advantage.
