Job Description – PCBA Repairer

Industry : Performance Lighting Design & Manufacturing
Location : Lot 2889, Lebuh Kampung Jawa, FIZ Phase 3,11900 Bayan Lepas, Penang Malaysia Employment : Permanent Position
Reporting To : Production Manager
Salary : MYR 2,500 – 3,500 per month

Working Hours : 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and troubleshoot defective PCBAs.
• Perform component-level repair and replacement for SMT and Through-Hole components.
• Repair PCBAs using soldering and rework equipment, including soldering iron, hot air rework station, and BGA rework station (where applicable).
• Read and interpret circuit schematics, BOM, assembly drawings, and work instructions.
• Repair PCBAs identified through ICT, AOI, X-Ray inspection, Functional Testing, or Customer Returns.
• Verify repaired PCBAs through functional testing to ensure product quality.
• Record repair activities and maintain accurate repair documentation.
• Report recurring defects and support continuous improvement activities.
• Ensure all repair work complies with IPC standards, ESD requirements, and company procedures.
• Maintain repair tools, equipment, and workstations in good working condition.
• Work closely with Production, Quality, Process Engineering, and Test Engineering teams.
• Follow all safety regulations and 5S workplace practices.

Requirements

• Diploma/Certificate in Electronics Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in SMT, PCBA Repair, or Electronics Manufacturing.
• Good knowledge of SMT & Through-Hole component repair.
• Able to read circuit schematics and assembly drawings.
• Familiar with IPC-A-610 and IPC-7711/7721 standards.
• Knowledge of ESD control procedures.
• Good troubleshooting and soldering skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with ICT, AOI, X-Ray, and Functional Test equipment.
• Experience in BGA rework is an added advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
