Job Overview

China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior / Mid-Level Civil Engineer to join our key infrastructure project team in Bintulu, Sarawak. In this position, you will play a key role in site engineering supervision, technical management, subcontractor coordination, quality assurance, and project progress control.

Key Responsibilities

• Site Leadership & Technical Execution: Lead daily site operations for civil/structural works, ensuring all construction activities strictly align with approved drawings, method statements, and project specifications.
• Subcontractor & Resource Management: Supervise and coordinate main contractors, subcontractors, and site personnel to ensure efficient resource allocation and adherence to project timelines.
• Quality Assurance & Control (QA/QC): Conduct site inspections, material evaluations, and structural testing alongside consultants and authorities to ensure high standards of construction quality.
• Technical Problem Solving: Identify site technical discrepancies early and collaborate with design consultants and project managers to formulate practical engineering solutions.
• Progress Tracking & Reporting: Monitor site progress against baseline schedules, compile detailed weekly/monthly progress reports, and present technical updates to project management.
• Authority & Client Interface: Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, and local authorities (e.g., JKR, Land & Survey, Sarawaken local councils) for permits, inspections, and approvals.
• Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards on-site in full compliance with local regulations.

Requirements

• Education & Professional Registration: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university. BEM (Board of Engineers Malaysia) registration is required; PE (Professional Engineer) status is a strong advantage for Senior positions.
• Experience Level:
• Mid-Level: Minimum 3–5 years of site engineering experience in civil, infrastructure, port, or heavy construction projects.
• Senior Level: Minimum 6+ years of progressive experience, with a proven track record in managing structural/civil packages on major projects.
• Work Location: Must be willing to be based full-time at the project site in Bintulu, Sarawak.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Project, structural drawings, and site survey techniques.
• Language Skills: Good command of written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia. Proficiency in Mandarin is highly advantageous to facilitate technical communication within the project team.
• Key Attributes: Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills, with the ability to manage site pressure and deliver results.
