Job Description – Technical Lead (Banking & Payments Transformation)

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Technical Lead with over 15 years of experience in core banking transformations, payments ecosystems, and high-performance Java solutions. The ideal candidate will drive large-scale migration programs (ISO 20022), design end-to-end solution architectures, and ensure technical governance to achieve production stability. This role requires strong expertise in microservices, distributed systems, API design, and stakeholder management, with a proven ability to deliver risk-focused solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Solution Architecture & Design

  • Lead ISO 20022 migration architecture and end-to-end solution design for payments systems.

  • Architect parallel streaming platforms to validate and certify payment interfaces during high-value cross-border migrations.

  • Design data models and API contracts for ISO 20022 message mapping and integration touchpoints.

• Technical Governance & Leadership

  • Drive Proof of Concepts (POCs) for complex interface requirements and provide architectural blueprints.

  • Conduct rigorous code reviews and enforce SDLC governance to ensure zero production incidents.

  • Mentor and guide engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and quality.

• Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Act as the primary technical liaison with third-party vendors, business leaders, and engineering teams.

  • Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions aligned with compliance and regulatory standards.

• Operational Excellence

  • Maintain high availability and stability of regional banking applications.

  • Spearhead automation initiatives to enhance productivity and optimize DevOps workflows.

  • Implement performance optimization strategies, reducing manual intervention and increasing delivery efficiency.

Required Skills & Expertise

• Banking & Payments Systems: Global Pay Plus (GPP), Finacle, Core Banking Integration, Credit Risk.

• Technology Stack: Java, Spring, Apache Nifi, Oracle, MongoDB, Kafka, Redis.

• Architecture & Design: Distributed Systems, Data Modelling, API Design, End-to-End Solution Architecture.

• Governance & Risk Management: SDLC Governance, Vulnerability Remediation, Risk Mitigation, Production Stability.

• DevOps & Delivery: Jenkins, Git, JIRA, CI/CD Pipelines, Agile Delivery Practices.

• Leadership: Team Management, Vendor Coordination, Stakeholder Engagement, Strategic POC Development.
