The Assistant Safety & Security Manager supports the Safety and Security Manager in protecting employees, visitors, property, information, and business operations. This role helps supervise the team, manage workplace safety and security activities, respond to incidents, and maintain a safe and secure environment.

Responsibilities

• Support daily safety and security operations.
• Supervise, train, schedule, and support safety and security officers.
• Monitor CCTV, access control, patrols, alarms, visitors, and emergency procedures.
• Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments, safety checks, and security audits.
• Identify hazards and security risks and recommend practical solutions.
• Investigate accidents, injuries, theft, misconduct, and security incidents.
• Prepare accurate incident reports, investigation records, and shift logs.
• Ensure safety policies, security procedures, and company standards are followed.
• Assist with emergency plans, evacuation drills, first-aid arrangements, and business continuity activities.
• Respond professionally to emergencies, workplace violence, safety concerns, and other incidents.
• Provide coaching, feedback, and support to team members.
• Build strong relationships with employees, contractors, management, police, emergency services, and external providers.
• Take responsibility for safety and security operations when the manager is unavailable.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• A qualification in safety, security management, risk management, criminology, or a related field is preferred.
• At least two years of experience in safety, security, law enforcement, military, loss prevention, or a similar role.
• Previous supervisory experience is preferred.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of workplace safety, CCTV, access control, incident management, investigations, and emergency response.
• Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to remain calm and make good decisions during emergencies.
• Strong attention to detail and report-writing skills.
• Ability to manage confidential information.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, public holidays, and on-call shifts when required.
• Current security license, first-aid certificate, and relevant safety qualifications or certifications.
