Job Summary
The Fire Protection Technician is responsible for installing, servicing, inspecting, and maintaining fire protection systems and equipment in accordance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company procedures. This role ensures all firefighting systems operate efficiently and comply with BOMBA and relevant safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Installation & Maintenance
- Install, service, and repair fire protection systems, including:
- Fire alarm systems
- Fire extinguishers
- Hose reels, hydrants & sprinkler systems
- Smoke detectors and emergency lighting
- Fire suppression systems (if applicable)
- Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance on all fire protection equipment.
- Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and rectification of faults.
2. Inspection & Compliance
- Carry out site inspections and equipment checks in accordance with BOMBA requirements and industry standards.
- Prepare inspection reports, checklist forms, and service records accurately.
- Ensure repaired or serviced equipment meets safety compliance before handover.
3. Site Coordination
- Assist engineers and supervisors in project execution.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and site personnel regarding system installation and maintenance work.
- Ensure site work is completed within the timeline and complies with safety protocols.
4. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain and update service records, job sheets, and maintenance logs.
- Report system defects and propose corrective actions to the supervisor or engineer.
- Ensure proper documentation of all equipment tested and serviced.
5. Safety & Professional Conduct
- Follow all company SOPs, safety guidelines, and site regulations.
- Wear proper PPE and ensure safe work practices at all times.
- Maintain good communication and professional service with clients.
Job Requirements
- SPM / Certificate / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection, or related fields.
- Experience in fire protection systems maintenance or construction is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of firefighting equipment and BOMBA requirements.
- Ability to read simple drawings (M&E/fire system) is an added advantage.
- Physically fit and able to work at site (indoor & outdoor environments).
- Willing to travel for service work and work overtime when required.
- Possess a valid driving license (D) is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM2,800.00 per month
