Role: SAP BW Analytics Lead

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (Hybrid weekly or bi-weekly onsite)

Contract: 1-year B2B freelance contract with strong possibility of extension

Overview

Our client, a leading global pharmaceutical organization, is seeking an experienced BW Analytics Lead to join a major SAP S/4HANA Transformation Program. This is a key leadership role within a multi-year transformation initiative (*************), responsible for defining and delivering the end-to-end analytics strategy while ensuring seamless business reporting throughout the phased S/4HANA deployment.

The successful candidate will lead the analytics workstream across reporting migration, cloud data modernization, dashboard transformation, and governance, working closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and AWS.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the analytics workstream for the SAP S/4HANA transformation program.
• Define and implement the enterprise analytics strategy aligned with the S/4HANA rollout roadmap.
• Establish analytics governance, migration principles, and delivery standards.
• Lead the migration of SAP ECC/BW reports to a modern cloud analytics platform, ensuring quality, performance, and business continuity.
• Drive the cloud data lake migration strategy and execution in collaboration with AWS and internal data teams.
• Oversee dashboard retrofit and repointing activities to support cutover, hybrid operations, and post-go-live stabilization.
• Coordinate cross-functional dependencies across analytics, reporting, data, infrastructure, and application teams.
• Manage delivery planning, release management, testing, risk mitigation, and reporting governance throughout the program lifecycle.
• Partner with business stakeholders to prioritize reporting requirements and ensure uninterrupted reporting capabilities during each deployment phase.
• Provide leadership throughout go-live, hypercare, and stabilization activities.

Required Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated experience leading analytics workstreams within large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation programs.
• Strong expertise in SAP BW and SAP ECC reporting environments.
• Experience delivering cloud analytics solutions and modern data platforms.
• Hands-on experience with AWS data lake architecture and migration initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of analytics strategy, governance, reporting transformation, and delivery planning.
• Proven ability to manage complex cross-functional dependencies across business and technology teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with senior business and IT leadership.
• Experience delivering complex, multi-year enterprise transformation programs.
• Strong leadership, planning, and program coordination capabilities.

• Experience within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
• Experience working in global enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with phased S/4HANA deployments and hybrid reporting landscapes.
