岗位职责

We are seeking a highly competent Ship Manager to support the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of gas carriers within the fleet. The role involves close engagement with vessels, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders to uphold operational excellence and ensure continuous adherence to international maritime standards.


Key Responsibilities


  • Oversee the safe and compliant operation of assigned vessels in accordance with internal management systems and all applicable national and international statutory, regulatory, and industry requirements.
  • Assess the performance of suppliers and contractors with regard to quality, environmental standards, and occupational health and safety.
  • Manage vessel operating expenses within approved budgets and support the preparation of annual vessel budgets in the required reporting format.
  • Notify stakeholders when expenditure exceeds budgeted limits and seek approval where necessary.
  • Ensure the procurement and maintenance of sufficient critical spares as required by manufacturers, classification societies, and internal policies.
  • Provide vessels with the equipment and spare parts necessary to maintain continuous and efficient operation of all machinery.
  • Consult senior technical leadership whenever deviations from established procedures or statutory requirements are required.
  • Monitor the planned maintenance system onboard each vessel and identify opportunities to optimise operating costs, improve efficiency, and implement corrective actions to prevent repeated failures.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to enhance customer satisfaction through continuous improvement of operational processes and service delivery.
  • In the event of machinery damage or failure, promptly coordinate repairs and arrange for the supply of required spare parts.
  • Conduct regular onboard inspections and ensure that technical and dry-dock reports are completed within the required timeframe following each visit or docking.
  • Evaluate shipboard personnel on their safety, environmental performance, and quality of service.
  • Maintain up-to-date dry dock plans and prepare detailed docking specifications for tendering. Oversee the full dry-docking process for assigned vessels in line with internal guidelines.
  • Liaise with insurance representatives where applicable, ensuring repairs meet underwriter standards and that all required documentation is properly endorsed and submitted for claims processing.
  • Implement preventive measures to reduce recurrence of equipment breakdowns and enhance reliability.



Requirements


  • Chief Engineer (Motor) Certificate of Competency.
  • Minimum 1-Year experience in Gas carriers’/Oil tankers as Chief Engineer or Min 1-Year as Technical Superintendent/Ship Manager with Ship owner/Ship Manager managing oil or gas tankers.
  • Sound technical knowledge of ship board operations.
  • Good communication, project management, analytical, time management and organisation skills.
  • Good knowledge of budgeting and cost control.
  • Strong teamwork orientation and ability to manage cross-functional relationships at all levels. ·
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced shipping environment under tight timelines. ·
